The feel of his little hand wrapped around your finger. The way she is getting closer to your height every day. The teeniest, tiniest, most perfect toes you’ve ever seen.
You don’t realize it, but you’re living in the most amazing time. This life – your life – here and now might not be perfect but it’s perfectly you. And I specialize in photography sessions for people who understand and appreciate that. In my sessions there is no stiff posing or uncomfortable clothing or “say cheese” in sight. I will not make your spouse look at the camera and I certainly will not make your kids stand still and smile. Instead, I take the concept of “the perfect family photo” and instead make it perfectly you.
I specialize in on-location lifestyle maternity, newborn, and family photography for all of Rhode Island as well as most of of Massachusetts and Connecticut. My clients choose me over and over again because they want gorgeous, fun, happy, natural, relaxed images of their pregnancy, or their new baby, or their family. They want to leave their session with the feeling of coming home. The feeling of having made a new friend.

Coming home. That is what photography sessions should feel like and it is how you should feel when you look at your images. Welcome to Amy Ro Photography – where I believe that photography is so much more than just pictures on paper. Where I believe anyone can take a photo. But where I also believe it’s about capturing the connection and love of your family for you to look back on as your kids get older and your family grows and changes.
I’ve been doing this for 17 years now and after all this time, my goals are simple. When you see your images no matter where you are in life, I want you to instantly come back home. To remember these awesome fleeting moments. To relive the indescribable joy you feel right now. As the mom to a son who is getting ready to go to college I know how fast it goes and how much you forget and how much I would give to relive it all.
What to Expect
your
booking
The first step is to choose whether you are interested in a traditional or storyteller session. More information on those can be found below with “where do we start?”. Then we work together to figure out a date that is best for your family. Please note that most sessions are booked at least two months in advance.
your consultation
Before your session we do a consultation either in your home or a location of your choosing. I can help you choose outfits, explore your house, and plan your art products. This is a great time for me to allay any of the worries or fears you might have – and as a bonus we get to know each other ahead of time!

session
Your session will be held at a location of your choosing at a date and time that work for both of us. For most outdoor sessions, this will be early morning or early evening. For in-home sessions it can be whenever! We will spend about an hour together capturing beautiful, special, organic images of you and your family.

gallery
Within two weeks (three weeks in peak fall season) all of the images from our session will be ready for viewing. For traditional sessions this happens at your Image Reveal and Ordering Session. For Storyteller Sessions, you receive a link to your custom gallery and can order any additional products within that gallery.
